Hey Lykkers! I feel like mascara is one of those makeup products that can completely change a look in seconds. Even on days when I'm wearing minimal makeup, a few coats of mascara instantly make me look more awake and put together.
Over the years, I've tried everything from drugstore favorites to high-end formulas, but there are only a handful that I genuinely enjoy using from start to finish. Recently, these two mascaras have stood out enough that I'd happily repurchase them when they run out. Here's my honest take on both.
1. Lancôme Idôle Mascara ($32)
If length is what you're after, this mascara is definitely worth a look. The first thing I noticed was the brush. It's designed to grab and separate each lash individually, which helps create a fanned-out effect without making my lashes look clumpy. I love how precise it feels, especially when I'm trying to reach the smaller lashes in the corners of my eyes.
What keeps me reaching for this mascara is the length it gives. My lashes instantly appear longer and more defined, but they still look lightweight and fluttery rather than heavy or overloaded with product. Another thing I appreciate is its wear time. Once applied, it stays put throughout the day without flaking or smudging on me. At the end of the day, it removes easily with makeup remover, which is always a bonus because I hate having to tug at my lashes.
2. Huda Beauty Legit Lashes Mascara ($27)
This mascara is perfect for those days when I can't decide whether I want volume or length—because it gives me both. What makes it unique is the dual-ended design. One side is dedicated to volume, while the other focuses on length. Depending on the look I'm going for, I can use one side alone or combine both for extra drama.
The volume wand has shorter bristles that help build fullness at the roots, making my lashes appear thicker and more dramatic. The lengthening wand, on the other hand, stretches and defines the lashes beautifully. I especially love using both ends together for special occasions or nights out. The result is bold, eye-catching lashes that almost look like falsies without actually wearing them.
Both mascaras have earned a permanent spot in my collection for different reasons. Lancôme Idôle gives me the long, defined lashes I love for everyday wear, while Huda Beauty Legit Lashes delivers extra drama whenever I want a more glamorous look. If I had to choose based purely on natural-looking length, I'd pick Lancôme. But if I wanted maximum impact and versatility, Huda Beauty would be my choice.
